Auto Dealer Monthly's Dealers' Choice Awards recognize the highest-rated vendors, suppliers and finance companies in the automotive industry. Each year, dealers and dealership personnel voice their collective opinion about the products and services they use on a day-to-day basis, as well as the level of customer service the companies provide and the overall value of the product and services. The companies that receive the highest rating earn the Diamond Award. Protective received the Auto Dealer Monthly 2011 Dealers' Choice Diamond Award, Ranked as the #1 Service Contract Provider.
Effective October 1, 2011, to comply with Florida's requirement that "the service agreement company remains responsible for full refunds to the consumer on canceled service agreements," Protective will assume the responsibility for issuing refunds directly to a lienholder or consumer on behalf of Florida Dealers. The Dealer's portion of the cancellation refund will be billed on the Monthly Statement of Account Activity. Dealers should remit payment to Protective within 30 days of the billing statement. In addition, Protective will assume responsiblity for maintaining documentation to satisfy the state's requirement of timely and accurate refund or reimbursement to a Florida consumer.
Dealers can continue to obtain cancellation quotes on line and can fax cancellation requests to 800-574-5116. Once the cancellation has been completed, both the customer and the selling dealer will receive a letter.
PLEASE NOTE: If the customer is purchasing another vehicle from the dealership and intends to apply the cancellation refund to the new purchase, the FLORIDA TRADE IN REFUND AGREEMENT must be completed and must accompany the cancellation request. FORMS ARE AVAILABLE on the "Frequently Used Forms" page of this website.
NAC, a leader in sales and administration of vehicle service contract products and services has launched "Contracts for a Cause". The program allows participating dealers to designate a charity of their choice to receive $5 for each Vehicle Service Contract sold. Dealer's Choice Southeast will match the $5 contribution. This is a wonderful program and we encourage all of our dealers to enroll. There is no cost to the dealership and all they need to do is do what they always do - sell vehicle service contracts to their customers.
